As a Food Service Attendant, you'll make a direct impact on patient care by delivering and collecting trays, maintaining clean, safe work areas, and providing friendly, timely service at every meal! Our department is a great _foot in the door_ at UPMC, and many teammates have grown into PFC, PCT, Nursing, and other clinical roles. The people who thrive here are responsible and bring a strong work ethic, and they're proud to serve on a team that-for the second year running-secured a grant to send patients home with adaptive feeding equipment at no cost. This full‑time role is 40 hours with 8‑hour shifts, five days per week; typical shift times are 6:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. or 11:30 a.m.-8:00 p.m., with weekends and holidays in rotation.

Responsibilities:
+ Ensure food and service equipment/utensils are ready for assigned area before meal service.
+ Operate food service equipment according to department procedures.
+ Inventory and stock bulk supplies within designated timeframes.
+ Serve patient trays using the department script and verify patient identification.
+ Bus and sanitize tables and chairs; set tables for the next meal per guidelines.
+ Deliver meals to residents' rooms upon request.
+ Assemble and serve meals per diet orders, menus, and individual requirements.
+ Maintain food safety and quality per the PA Department of Health and related regulations.
+ Follow hand hygiene and infection control procedures consistently.
+ Sanitize assigned work areas per departmental and health department standards.
Work permit required if under 18 years old.
