Our Neurodiagnostic (NDL) Technologists serve in areas including EEG, EMG, EP, Autonomics, TCD, Balance testing and much more.
Changing the Future of the Neurodiagnostic Lab Department: The Neurodiagnostic Lab Department is dedicated to providing a comprehensive battery of outpatient neurological testing procedures at Stanford Health Care.
Our specialty-trained technologists and board-certified neurologists perform electroneurodiagnostic testing in the Stanford Neurosciences Health Center, Emeryville Neurodiagnostic Lab, and Pleasanton Neurodiagnostic Lab.

The Outpatient NDL department allows staff the ability to learn a wide variety of procedures and techniques including :
• EMG
• Ambulatory EEG
• Routine EEG
• LTM EEG
• EP
• Autonomic Testing
• TCD
• HVF and OCT
• ECG
• CDP
• Gait Analysis
Our group of Neurologists, Fellows and Residents help to make technologists feel supported in and outside of their role.

A Brief Overview
Under minimal supervision of the department manager and the Medical Director, monitors staffing assignments/division of labor, problems, and technical operation of the labs. Recommends and implements actions for the daily operation of the labs, working closely with the department manager. Performs EEGs, Evoked Potentials, Long-Term Monitoring in Epilepsy (LTME), Intraoperative Neurophysiologic studies, Nerve Conduction Velocity (NCV), and Tran cranial Doppler (TCD) studies.

What you will do
+ Aids in the educational development of any students, residents, and fellows present in the labs through inservice training and review of daily work.
+ Assists in establishing and maintaining laboratory procedures and protocols.
+ Communicates to department manager progress, problems and trends in technical areas of electromyography/NCV, EMG, TCD, EEG, EP, Epilepsy Monitoring and surgical monitoring.
+ Maintains equipment in proper working condition; calibrates and adjusts equipment as needed; troubleshoots equipment problems and makes minor repairs or reports problems promptly to manager.
+ May perform Nerve Conduction Studies including Sensory and Motor conductions, F-Wave measurements, and H-Reflex studies. May assist physicians in the performance of EMG testing.
+ Monitors and evaluates staff and reports performance to department manager.
+ Performs complex multi-modality Intra-operative Neuromonitoring studies including EEG, EMG, and all Evoked Potentials (SEP, BAER, VER) during neurosurgical, vascular, orthopedic, and otolaryngology surgeries.
+ Performs cortical stimulation/ functional mapping studies to determine sensormotor and language cortex, cranial nerve stimulation during neurosurgical and otolaryngology cases, EEG recordings during Amytal (WADA) testing, Electrocorticography (ECOG) intraoperatively, Long Term Monitoring for Epilepsy (LTME) with scalp and intracranial (strip, grid, and depth) electrodes, Motor Evoked Potentials (MEP) during complex surgical procedures, standard EEGs and all Evoked Potential modalities in the laboratory and patient care floors, Transcranial Doppler Studies (TCD) in the Neurodiagnostic Labs, at the patient bedside, in the operating room, and other specialized locations.
+ Programs and maintains computerized Event Detection recordings and computers in LTME for identification of suspected epileptic data.
+ Recommends assignment of technical staff to achieve optimum patient service, appropriate division of labor and efficient work flow.
Education Qualifications
+ Graduate of an Electroneurodiagnostic technology program accredited by the Committee on AlliedHealth Education and Accreditation and/or equivalent formal training approved by the Medical Director
+ High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Experience Qualifications
+ Three (3) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ Ability to apply judgment and make informed decisions
+ Ability to speak and write effectively at a level appropriate for the job
+ Ability to supervise, coach, mentor, train, and evaluate work results
+ Ability to work independently, under stressful conditions
+ Knowledge (extensive) of neuroanatomy and neurophysiology
+ Knowledge and practice of electrical safety relevant to Neurodiagnostic equipment
+ Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area
+ Knowledge of multiple electrode application techniques
+ Skill: END pattern recognition to provide clinical descriptive information to epileptologist or surgeon
+ Skill: Good technical aptitude
+ Must be able to work On-Call shifts

+ Registered EEG Technologist – R. EEG T. (ABRET) or
+ Certification for Autonomic Professionals - CAP (ABRET) or
+ Registered Evoked Potential Technologist - R. EP T. (ABRET) or
+ Certification of Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring – CNIM (ABRET) or
+ Certified Nerve Conduction Technologist - CNCT (AANEM) or
+ Registered Nerve Conduction Study Technologist - R.NCS.T. (AAET) or
+ Certification for Long Term Monitoring – CLTM (ABRET)

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $70.47 - $79.37 per hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
