• Senior Postgres Database Engineer

    Job Description

    Insight Global is looking to add a Senior Postgres Database Engineer to the team, local to the DMV area. The DBA/Engineer will be responsible for the following:

    Key Responsibilities:

    Database Architecture & Design: Design efficient database schemas, data models, and high-volume data pipelines, ensuring security, performance, and scalability.

     

    Performance Tuning: Optimize SQL queries, indexes, server configurations, and database parameters for peak efficiency.

     

    Automation & Tooling: Develop scripts/tools (Ansible, Puppet) for routine tasks, CI/CD integration (Liquibase, Flyway), and operational efficiency.

     

    Security: Implement access controls, encryption, and monitor audit logs to protect sensitive data.

     

    Collaboration: Work with developers on application integration, code reviews, and evangelize best practices.

     

    Cloud & Infrastructure: Manage databases in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and understand underlying Linux/networking.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    -5+ years of hands on experience standing up, configuring, and managing Postgres databases in large scale system, within AWS environment

     

    -heavy load batch processing experience

     

    -able to go on site 2-3 times a week

     

    -clearable for US Govt clearance
