Job Description
Under general supervision, leads and monitors the work of Stock Clerks while performing the same, and/or more difficult duties as those being led. Incumbents ensure completion of tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures and communicates the policies, procedures and job expectations to staff in the related field within the Sacramento Area Sewer District (SacSewer).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Leads and participates in the work of staff performing storekeeping duties.
Distributes and assigns work to employees, monitors work for progress and quality and ensures work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
Provides training and mentoring to staff in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Assists, guides, and instructs group members in the performance of their duties and provides technical direction and problem solving in response to staff work questions and problems.
Recommends improvements and modifications to work processes and procedures, adapts work procedures to meet changing needs, and resolves less complex work problems.
Resolve employee concerns, provides input to supervisor on employee performance and informs supervisor of conduct problems.
Responds to and coordinates with supervisor to resolve routine customer inquiries and complaints.
Receives, stores and issues supply, parts, equipment, and printed material.
Estimates supply needs and orders regularly used supplies based on usage rate, storage space available, product shelf life, and delivery time.
Receives, records, organizes, moves, and disposes of warehoused items and surplus property.
Maintains records of supplies ordered, received, issued and in stock within the warehoused items while authorizing payments.
Conducts inventories of supplies, fixed assets and other property and equipment.
Confers with vendors, contract service providers, purchasing staff, and others regarding products and supply needs.
Evaluates and participates in evaluating quality and type of individual products based on users' needs.
Analyzes costs and savings of ordering supplies in various quantities and re-packages bulk orders for distribution in smaller quantities.
Prepares US mail for delivery to post office or contracted mail service.
Sorts and delivers mail and supplies to other offices and departments in an organized regularly scheduled delivery system.
Performs minor assembly, maintenance and repair, and arranges for maintenance and repair, of equipment, furniture, and other property.
Performs related duties as assigned
pay range: $25-27.91/hr

Skills and Requirements
2 years of experience with stock clerk involving receiving, recording, storing, and issuing a variety of supplies, equipment and/or merchandise.
