Zurich is currently looking for a Bankruptcy Analyst to work out of our North American headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois.
The Bankruptcy Analyst will perform complex finance operations tasks for bankrupt accounts that are referred to our Special Collections unit, including responsibilities for organizing and directing the Zurich North American Bankruptcy Action Teams, monitoring bankruptcy matters, filing bankruptcy Proof of Claims, and working with internal and external attorneys and the third party bankruptcy research vendor to ensure financial goals are being met and activities are in compliance with required policies and procedures. Responsibilities will include review of legal documents and participation in Bankruptcy Action Teams as our company representative. Other tasks will include the creation of payment and ultimate financial analyses, bad debt reserving and reporting, along with preparation of account receivables statements and payment application of collateral proceeds and receivable payments. This individual will ensure financial goals are being met and all actions are in compliance with our policies, procedures and our Code of Conduct.
Additional responsibilities will include:
+ Performing as an initial point of escalation for bankruptcy matters providing technical guidance and work direction
+ Responding to internal and external client’s inquiries by providing technical advice in a professional, timely and accurate manner in complex situations
+ Proactively analyzing performance of key performance indicators and communicate status and issues to management
+ Demonstrating an understanding of the customer’s needs, reviews process and procedures; recommend and implement continuous improvement
+ Leading and collaborating on moderately complex ad hoc projects
+ Reviewing legal documents, participation as Zurich’s representation and/or witness, negotiation of settlements
+ Handles filing of proof of claim on complex loss sensitive programs
+ Monitors the instruments of security to maximize collections
+ Establishes bad debt reserves
+ Collecting, reconciling, invoicing and minimizing outstanding balances and delinquencies to assigned accounts
+ Handling complex accounts (loss sensitive products, loss fund components)
+ Identify and resolve problems, verify accuracy of processed transactions, reconcile and perform duties per defined procedures
+ Provide guidance and support and deliver training to educate team members and increase awareness of existing or new policies and procedures to optimize performance and increase compliance within process or product area
+ Provide administrative support to local team and participate in projects, as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Finance Operations areaOR
+ High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Finance Operations area
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience with legal collections
+ Experience in finance terminology and practices
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills
+ Strong quantitative and analytical skills
Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. If your expectations are above the listed range, we still encourage you to apply—your unique background matters to us. The proposed Salary range for this position is $71,100.00 - $116,500.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%.
