Waste Connections, Inc. – Diesel Mechanic

**Location:** Dade City, FL

Pay Rate:** **$28–$32 per hour

Waste Connections, Inc. has immediate openings for a high-energy **Diesel Mechanic** to join our team at our hauling location in Dade City, FL. Previous waste industry experience is a huge plus!

Schedule:

+ Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

+ Half-day every other Saturday

Compensation & Benefits:

Duties & Responsibilities:

+ Perform repairs and preventative maintenance services

+ Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems

+ Utilize vehicle computer systems to interpret failure modes and assign repairs

+ Complete required paperwork using fleet maintenance software

+ Review and complete repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports

+ Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment

+ Respond to emergency breakdowns with service calls

+ Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards

Working Conditions & Physical Effort:

+ Requires heavy lifting (50+ lbs), pushing, and pulling

+ Work may be indoors in a shop or outdoors for roadside repairs

+ Must follow basic safety precautions when working in tight positions or handling greasy tools

Minimum Requirements:

+ Valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement preferred (or ability to obtain)

+ Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

+ Must provide own tools; welding/fabrication experience is a plus

+ Computer experience is a plus
