Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Child and Youth Program on Joint Base Andrews, Maryland. This is a regular part time position guaranteed 20 hours per week with benefits. Responsibilities Performs one or a combination of the following manual labor tasks: Loads, unloads, or relocates heavy or bulky items from boxcars, trucks, and other conveyances; carriers and assembles scaffolding. Digs ditches and trenches with pick and shovel where dirt is hard and compact; does grading and sloping; occasionally and for short periods of time, breaks up furniture, unload delivery trucks, repair furniture, dispose of waste and broken furniture, remove dirt and debris from play ground area and lawn. Uses heavy (not domestic type) power mowers; adjust blades,and cleans and oils mowers; cuts trees, using ax or chain saw. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifying Experience: Experience which demonstrated the ability to operate, control and clean heavy powered equipment. Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions. Physically able to frequently lift and carry heavy objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds. Work that requires the skills and knowledge in operating heavy equipment, continually involves extreme physical effort; such as, constantly lifting or carrying objects weighing 80 to 100 pounds or more with assistance. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
