Who we’re looking for:
The Research Scientist Senior supports the research activities of the Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology (DLMP).
The Research Scientist Senior will conceive and develop projects and plans for understanding viral replication, viral-host protein-protein interactions, drug efficacy, viral evolution, and viral genome sequencing fields, and subsequent performance of assays and/or direction of technical personnel in the Greninger lab, Division of Infectious Disease Diagnostics (DIDD).

What you’ll contribute:
+ Responsible for the technical and development of the research projects and experiments in the Greninger lab and collaboration with the Renton Central lab.
+ Prepare manuscripts for publication
+ Lead automation efforts in the DIDD involving liquid handlers.
+ Develop and implement clinical research validation to be used for virologic test services based on binding and functional serologies and cellular immunity assays
+ Facilitate and lead the research process of streamlining and harmonization of wet bench aspects of workflows across the DIDD laboratories.
+ Plans, develops, and coordinates research and development of technical workflows and facilities of the DIDD laboratories.
+ Oversee the creation of technical development documentation (validation document, procedures) for new and updated tests from research to specification required by regulatory agencies, including CAP, CLIA, FDA, Study Sponsors, and PIs.
+ Negotiate with vendors for reagents and instrumentation needed for expanded immunology services across the Virology Division laboratories.
+ Review the current technical development plans and assist in planning for annual division research and development technical goals and objectives.
+ Interact with internal and external collaborators related to aspects of technical development.
What you’ll need:
+ PhD in Immunology, Virology, Biology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology or closely related field
+ Experience requirement, minimum: Seven years in related area or equivalent combination of education/experience in collaborative project design, and understanding of genomics and/or viral biology.
+ Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

+ Ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot.

Pay Range Minimum:
$104,172.00 annual
Pay Range Maximum:
$156,000.00 annual
