    Job Title: Financial Administrator

     

    Department: Med Pulmonary

     

    Hours: Full Time

    Summary:

    + The Financial Administrator works with senior Division leadership, DOM Finance, and external third parties (if applicable) to analyze, budget and manage existing lines of service and evaluate new opportunities. Constant evaluation and refinement of financial and operational processes as they relate to the goals of the program is an important function. The position works with hospital, CPUP, and DOM billing departments to ensure a high level of accuracy, compliance and efficiency. Proactive assessment of revenue and expense implications associated with evolving business models and vendor relationships also plays a key role in daily activities. This individual is also called upon to participate in special projects from time to time that may require informal market research, complex proforma projections, Penn Facilities and outside landlord relations. Provide financial, operational, and analytical decision support for assigned Division.

    Accountabilities:

    Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care (PACC) Duties:

    + Work with the PACC Division Administrator (DDA) to support financial planning and reporting

    + Prepares monthly journal entries

    + Reconciles and performs analysis of activity within assigned accounts

    + Prepares supporting schedules for monthly financial statements

    + Prepares monthly variance analyses and one pager to support DDA budget presentations

    + Work with DDA, Business Manager, and DOM Financial Analyst in development of annual budgets

    + Prepares line-item data entry of expenses for annual budgets

    + Prepare monthly variance analysis submitted to CPUP Finance

    + Prepare monthly balance sheet analysis submitted to CPUP Finance

    + Development and maintenance of incentive compensation plan reports and analytics

    + wRVU reporting to faculty and division leadership

    + Monthly budget variance reporting to DDA and DOM Finance

    + Administrative duties and special projects as assigned

    + Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures

    + Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization

    Education or Equivalent Experience:

    + Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required) Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance or Equivalent

    + 3+ years Accounting and budgeting experience. Knowledge of healthcare accounting preferred. Should have experience with Lawson (or similar) General Ledger, and EPIC Patient Accounting (or similar). Excellent computer skills required; proficient with Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word processing software.
