ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Leads and oversees commissioning activities for protective relays in substations.

+ Develops and implements detailed commissioning plans, test procedures and documentation for capital projects and system upgrades.

+ Analyzes system performance and relay operations, including fault event analysis, misoperation investigations and protection scheme validation.

+ Provides expert technical support to field crews, contractors and operations teams during installation, energization and troubleshooting.

+ Collaborates with design engineers to ensure protection schemes are accurately implemented and meet operational and regulatory requirements.

+ Reviews and approves relay settings, coordination studies and system protection designs.

+ Prepares and presents technical reports, compliance documentation and performance assessments to internal and external stakeholders.

+ May mentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing guidance on commissioning practices, protection principles and field operations.

+ Participate in strategic initiatives related to grid modernization, reliability improvement and regulatory compliance.

REQUIREMENTS

+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Major in Electrical Engineering or relevant, equivalent experience and/or education.

+ Minimum of six (6) years of work experience in related area for Senior Engineer level

+ Power system coursework preferred for electrical engineering majors.

+ Utility experience preferred.

+ Possess sound analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills.

+ Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with superiors and individuals inside and outside the Company.

+ Ability to multi-task and work under minimal supervision, in a team environment.

+ Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access).

+ Ability to learn and utilize job specific software.
