We are seeking a highly skilled technical leader to drive the development of standardized supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) architecture and applications, OT network architecture and security, OT data architecture, OT/IT data flow and architecture, OT resiliency strategy and solutions, and OT artificial intelligence (AI) strategy and applications across all plants globally. In this role, you will lead these technical fields in collaboration with the IT and cybersecurity organizations to drive value into all plants globally. You will also serve as a key contributor to the Ignition Council, influencing platform evolution and best practices globally.

Where is the work:
+ On-Site (5 days) in Davidson, NC
What you will do:
+ SBU Support & Standardization
+ Partner with Strategic Business Units (SBUs) globally to successfully develop and deploy technology applications including Ignition applications (templates, UDTs, tag models, scripting libraries)
+ Serve as a subject-matter expert to define architecture, performance optimization, and security within Ignition environments
+ Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and design reviews to ensure alignment and knowledge transfer with the plants
+ Promote reuse of Ignition modules and libraries to minimize duplication and accelerate project delivery
+ OEE Leadership & Council Involvement
+ Lead or support the implementation of OEE tracking systems using Ignition modules
+ Contribute to the Ignition Council by sharing field experience, providing feedback on features, and participating in strategic discussions
+ Advocate for industry best practices in OEE metrics, downtime tracking, and operational visibility
+ Scale OEE work to other subsystems such as smart torque systems, Digital MDI boards, and, in general, process monitoring and visualization using Ignition
+ Technical Execution & Oversight
+ Architect and deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable Ignition-based solutions (Perspective, MQTT, Tag Historian, etc.)
+ Lead OT data architecture aligned to ISA-95/88 standards and integrate with PLCs, ERP, MES, historians and cloud platforms
+ Lead OT Network architecture and plant asset connectivity
+ Lead artificial intelligence (AI) applications within the manufacturing operation
+ Lead OT resiliency including factory floor PC rationalization, eliminating un-managed switches and remote access capabilities
+ Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity and enterprise architecture teams to ensure compliance and technical governance
+ Mentorship & Governance
+ Establish and enforce development standards, documentation protocols, and code review processes
+ Mentor junior engineers and provide thought leadership across the OT engineering community
+ Influence and Leadership:
+ High customer focus and commitment to customer success
+ Mentor subject leaders in Advanced Manufacturing Technology and other technical teams
+ Drive engineering principles and technical discipline through mentoring, training and interactive project reviews
+ Identify, evaluate, decide, and manage strategic, external partner relationships
What you will bring:
+ Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or similar is required; Master’s degree is preferred
+ 10+ years in industrial automation/OT environments with a strong SCADA/OT systems background
+ 3+ years hands-on experience developing in Ignition (Perspective, scripting, tags, UDTs, etc.)
+ Deep working knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining and assembly), electro-mechanical systems, automation and factory information technology (IoT, Industry 4.0, MES and Ignition SCADA systems)
+ Proven experience designing or deploying Ignition applications in production environments
+ Experience working with multiple business units or sites, delivering shared frameworks or applications
+ Strong understanding of industrial network protocols (OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus), PLC integration, and data flow architecture
+ Solid programming/scripting skills (Python, SQL) within the Ignition ecosystem
+ Excellent communication, facilitation and cross-functional collaboration skills
+ Demonstrated project management acumen
+ Strategic thinking, thought leadership and strong results-orientation
+ Deep knowledge of key vendors and products in the manufacturing and automation markets
+ Deep controls expertise across PLC, HMI & SCADA systems
+ Deep knowledge of Digital connectivity / IIoT and sensor technology
+ Strong understanding of data analytics (e.g. AI, Cognitive Analytics, Machine Learning)
+ Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
+ Self-motivated team player with strong desire to learn
+ Ability to work effectively in a variety of geographical regions and cultures across the globe
+ Travel is required, some globally. Expected travel requirements average = 20%
+ Preferred Qualifications
+ Ignition Gold Certified or equivalent.
+ Direct involvement in an Ignition council, user group or industry collaboration.
+ Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, Git-based version control and deployment automation in OT environments
+ Experience with Linux, SSH & AWS
+ Familiarity with containerization (Docker) or cloud/edge computing models in industrial settings
Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $130,000- $170,000
Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, and geographic location where the work is performed.
