As a Pharmacy Technician Apprentice, you will train under the direct supervision of a pharmacist while gaining hands-on experience in packaging, preparing and distributing medications, managing inventory, supporting customer service and maintaining pharmacy records. Over a paid 41/2-month training period, you will learn the full scope of pharmacy operations-including prescription filling, carousel management and inventory processes-while completing coursework through the Cleveland Clinic School of Pharmacy Technology Program. At the end of the training period, you will earn a Pharmacy Technology diploma and be eligible to work as a registered or certified Pharmacy Technician. A caregiver in this position works** **Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 3:30pm with no weekend, on-call or holiday requirements. This role pays a flat rate of $15 per hour.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

+ Prepare medications (selection, labeling, repackaging, non-sterile compounding and sterile compounding).

+ Deliver medications to appropriate storage locations.

+ Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies.

+ Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.

+ Document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities, and training in an accurate and timely manner.

+ Attend and actively participate in team huddles and meetings.

+ Use information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned tasks.

+ Maintain good standing in the Cleveland Clinic School of Pharmacy Technology Program per the student handbook.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

+ High School Diploma or GED

+ Successful completion of the Cleveland Clinic School of Pharmacy Technology program within 12 months of hire

+ Registration as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy upon hire

+ Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy and Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) Certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) within one year of hire

+ Ability to perform algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compounds

+ Basic computer skills

Physical Requirements:

+ Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing, walking, reaching, stretching and sitting for prolonged periods; manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer, dispensing, and compounding.

Personal Protective Equipment:

+ Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $15.00

Maximum hourly: $150.00
