About the Role:
The CBRE Energy and Renewables team is seeking a Manager to maintain, expand, and leverage our established network of 200+ utility-scale renewable energy and power generation developers. This role focuses on cultivating strategic relationships with developers of large-scale solar, wind, battery energy storage systems (BESS), thermal technologies, and other power generation assets to create opportunities across our platform. You will serve as the primary interface between our internal teams and the developer community, maintaining market intelligence on project pipelines, M&A opportunities, pricing dynamics, and emerging opportunities across VPPAs, BESS tolling agreements, and other financial and physical power arrangements. You will represent CBRE Energy & Renewables to the developer community and oversee the financial evaluation of opportunities, managing and validating model outputs from analysts and team members. The ideal candidate will independently manage developer relationships, stay at the forefront of evolving market conditions, and translate developer capabilities into actionable opportunities for our transaction teams. What You’ll Do:
+ Maintain and expand strategic relationships with our established network of 200+ utility-scale renewable energy and power generation developers across solar, wind, BESS, thermal technologies (including natural gas), and emerging power generation sectors; serve as the primary CBRE representative to the developer community; conduct regular touchpoints to understand project pipelines, M&A activity, pricing strategies, and commercial capabilities.
+ Identify and onboard new developers entering the utility-scale renewables market; evaluate developer capabilities, financial strength, and project quality; maintain comprehensive database of developer profiles, including project portfolios, geographic focus areas, technology preferences, and contracting approaches.
+ Monitor developer project pipelines and M&A activity to identify opportunities aligned with platform needs; track market pricing trends for VPPAs, physical PPAs, BESS tolling agreements, and other contract structures; identify potential acquisition targets and development platform opportunities; provide real-time intelligence on project availability, M&A opportunities, pricing dynamics, and market conditions to internal transaction teams.
+ Connect internal teams with appropriate developer projects, platforms, and capabilities based on engagement requirements; conduct preliminary project screening and due diligence; facilitate connections between transaction teams and developers; support deal structuring conversations by leveraging deep understanding of developer preferences and constraints; identify M&A opportunities that align with our platform's strategic objectives.
+ Manage request for proposal (RFP) processes for engagements, including developer outreach, timeline coordination, and proposal collection; ensure competitive tension and market coverage; analyze and compare developer proposals; provide recommendations on project selection and commercial terms to internal transaction teams.
+ Track regulatory developments, interconnection queue dynamics, transmission constraints, and policy changes affecting utility-scale project development; analyze how market shifts impact developer strategies and client opportunities; prepare market briefings and trend reports for internal teams and client engagements.
+ Oversee financial evaluation of developer opportunities, projects, and M&A transactions, managing and validating model outputs produced by analysts and team members; diligence financial assumptions, pricing structures, and economic analyses; ensure accuracy and reasonableness of project economics and transaction valuations; translate financial findings into strategic insights for internal transaction teams.
+ Partner with senior advisors managing VPPA, PPA, BESS, M&A, and other engagements to provide developer insights and sourcing support; collaborate with business development team to identify new opportunities based on developer pipeline intelligence and M&A activity; support transaction teams with developer relationship management throughout deal execution; serve as the bridge between internal teams and the external developer community.
+ Maintain comprehensive tracking systems for developer relationships, project pipelines, and sourcing activities; generate regular reports on market activity, developer performance, and opportunity pipeline; analyze conversion metrics and relationship effectiveness.
What You’ll Need:
+ Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
+ 2-6 years of experience in the renewable energy or power generation industry with direct exposure to utility-scale project development, power marketing, M&A, or energy transactions.
+ Proven experience managing developer relationships or working within a renewable energy or power generation development organization.
+ Strong understanding of utility-scale renewable energy and power generation markets, including solar, wind, battery storage, thermal technologies, and project economics.
+ Familiarity with VPPA, physical PPA, and BESS contract structures and commercial terms.
+ Ability to review and validate financial models, including understanding of project finance, cash flow modeling, and valuation methodologies; while hands-on modeling is not required, candidate must be able to diligence model outputs and assumptions.
+ Knowledge of ISO/RTO markets, interconnection processes, and transmission infrastructure.
+ Exceptional relationship-building and networking skills with ability to cultivate long-term partnerships.
+ High proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel for data analysis and tracking, PowerPoint for presentations, and database management tools.
+ Strong analytical mindset with ability to synthesize market intelligence and identify strategic opportunities.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
+ Self-directed work style with ability to manage extensive relationship networks independently.
+ Willingness to travel regularly for developer meetings, site visits, and industry events.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the position is $130,000 annually and the maximum salary for the position is $160,000 annually. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on their skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
