About the Role:
Join our dedicated facilities team at a leading community healthcare provider in Franklin, VA. As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you’ll be the go-to expert ensuring our building systems run smoothly and safely. From HVAC and electrical to plumbing and general maintenance, your hands-on skills will help create a comfortable, reliable environment for patients and staff. What You’ll Do:
+ Execute assigned work orders efficiently, documenting tasks and communicating updates to supervisors or facility managers.
+ Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and other building systems.
+ Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and ensure systems are functioning properly.
+ Maintain and repair HVAC systems, including air handlers, fan coil units, chillers, and boilers.
+ Install and replace electrical components such as receptacles, switches, and fixtures; troubleshoot circuits and convert lighting to LED.
+ Handle basic plumbing repairs, including unclogging drains, replacing fixtures, and ensuring leak-free installations.
+ Assist with general building maintenance tasks like replacing ceiling tiles, patching drywall, and minor carpentry.
+ Support energy management by ensuring systems operate efficiently and participate in scheduled preventive maintenance programs.
+ Ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations during inspections and repairs.
+ Follow established procedures to solve straightforward problems and communicate clearly with team members.
+ Contribute to team success through defined duties and tasks, working under close supervision and guidance.
What You’ll Need:
+ High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1–2 years of relevant experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
+ Physical ability to stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, and lift/carry loads of 50 lbs. or more.
+ Basic understanding of work routines and standards, with the ability to follow them consistently.
+ Strong troubleshooting skills across HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
+ Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
+ Familiarity with building automation systems is a plus.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
+ Excellent communication and documentation skills, with a strong organizational mindset.
+ Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment and adhering to all safety protocols.
