Primary Purpose:
The Director, Strategic Pricing and Value Realization, will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of pricing strategies across Generac’s Residential business, including Consumer Power and Energy Technology solutions. This role will elevate pricing from a functional capability to a strategic growth lever, ensuring that Generac maximizes revenue, profitability, and customer loyalty across all channels and residential product categories.
The Director will set the strategic vision for pricing, guide monetization of hardware, software, and service-based offerings, and establish Generac as a market leader in value-based pricing within the home energy and power solutions industry. Partnering with senior executives in Marketing, Sales, Finance, Operations, and Product Management, this leader will shape Generac’s pricing and value realization roadmap to enable profitable growth and long-term market expansion.
Major Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Vision
Define and execute Generac’s pricing and value realization strategy for the Residential business, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, market positioning, and customer value creation.
Serve as the executive authority on pricing, advising business unit leaders and senior management on pricing structures, revenue models, and monetization opportunities.
Anticipate and adapt to macroeconomic, competitive, and regulatory shifts that impact pricing strategies.
Revenue & Margin Optimization
Drive enterprise-wide initiatives to enhance revenue growth and margin expansion through strategic pricing, bundling, and promotional frameworks.
Establish and manage governance for MSRP, MAP, and promotional pricing to ensure consistency, transparency, and profitability across channels in the residential businesses.
Lead strategic scenario planning and predictive modeling to guide executive decision-making on pricing actions and trade-offs.
Market & Consumer Insights
Oversee advanced pricing analytics, consumer elasticity modeling, and competitive intelligence to inform enterprise pricing strategy.
Guide the use of AI/ML, predictive analytics, and algorithmic pricing engines to enhance responsiveness, scalability, and accuracy of pricing decisions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Product Management, Marketing, and Sales leaders to integrate pricing strategy into product lifecycle planning, go-to-market strategies, and commercial execution.
Collaborate with Finance, Operations and Supply Chain leaders to align pricing with demand planning, channel health, and inventory optimization.
Ensure executive-level visibility into pricing outcomes through high-impact presentations and financial reporting.
Capability Building & Team Leadership
Build and lead a high-performing pricing and value realization team, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making, innovation, and accountability.
Develop scalable processes, systems, and tools to institutionalize pricing excellence across Generac’s residential businesses.
Mentor senior pricing professionals, preparing the next generation of leaders in pricing strategy and revenue management.
Minimum Job Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing, economics, or related field (MBA or Master’s degree preferred)
Work Experience
10 years of progressive experience in pricing, revenue management, or commercial strategy within CPG, industrial, manufacturing, or technology industries.
Minimum 5 years in leadership roles with direct responsibility for enterprise pricing strategy and P&L influence.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Deep expertise in value-based pricing, revenue optimization, consumer behavior, and retail economics.
Strong financial acumen with advanced proficiency in ERP (SAP preferred) and BI/analytics platforms.
Proven ability to influence executive leaders and drive organizational alignment around pricing strategies.
Exceptional executive communication and presentation skills, with ability to simplify complex pricing dynamics for decision-making.
Demonstrated experience scaling pricing capabilities, processes, and tools across diverse business units and channels.
Preferred Job Requirements:
Education:
MBA or Advanced degree in economics, finance, data science, or related field
Certification / License:
Certified Pricing Professional (CPP)
Work Experience:
15 or more years of progressive pricing experience in CPG, industrial, manufacturing and/or technology industries
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Experience deploying AI/ML pricing models; familiarity with Python, Pandas, Scikit-learn, and ensemble ML methods.
Knowledge of SaaS and subscription pricing frameworks.
Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
Active membership in Professional Pricing Society or relevant external professional group.
Proven track record as a change agent with a challenger mindset, capable of influencing enterprise strategy and driving transformation.
Generac is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role is $175,000 - $225,000 and the role can be based in the following locations, Denver CO, Pewaukee, WI, Chicago, IL, Boston, MA, Reno Nevada or San Francisco CA. This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications and geographic location. This role is eligible for variable compensation including short term and long-term incentives.

The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
