    Parker Hannifin Corporation – Hydraulic and Aerospace Filtration Division (a manufacturing facility) is seeking an enthusiastic Maintenance Intern to join our Maintenance Department. The internship will provide valuable, practical experience, while having the ability to engage and impact our workforce. Candidates should have an interest in Maintenance as a career path and must be currently pursuing a technical diploma, or an associate or bachelor’s degree, preferably within maintenance or a related field. Ideally, the intern would be able to work full-time hours during the summer with possible opportunities for part-time, 15-20 hours per week, during the school weeks.

    Position Summary

    Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager and in conformance with established maintenance protocols, safety standards, and operational procedures, performs maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and installation of manufacturing equipment and systems. Supports continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and ensure efficient lean manufacturing operations.

    Responsibilities

    + Maintain, repair, troubleshoot, disassemble, and install manufacturing equipment and systems to support lean manufacturing operations.

    + Assist in the development and continuous improvement of maintenance methods and procedures.

    + Participate in equipment-related projects, including upgrades and process improvements to minimize downtime.

    + Support the maintenance team in daily routine and preventative maintenance of department equipment and tools. Involvement with a variety of maintenance related tasks.

    + Support safety inspections and ensure compliance with organizational standards and regulations.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams on equipment-related quality and operational issues.

    + Complete and present a project related to opportunities within the maintenance department.

    Qualifications

    + Work in a safe manner observing all company procedures regarding environmental, health, and safety.

    Education and Experience

    + Currently pursuing a technical diploma, or an associate or bachelor’s degree, in maintenance or a related field.

    + Ideal candidates will have manufacturing and maintenance related experience as well as a sufficient background and technical knowledge to assume responsibilities.

    Knowledge Skills and Abilities

    + Ability to work on assignments that are moderately complex where judgement is required in evaluating information, resolving problems and making recommendations.

    + Basic knowledge of industrial manufacturing equipment, systems, and maintenance procedures.

    + Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

    Physical Requirements

    While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger or touch objects, tools, or controls, to push and pull objects, and lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. The associate is occasionally required to work from elevated platforms and/or ladders, and use specific vision faculties which include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
