    Compensation

     

    Compensation: $55,000.00-$66,000.00 Plus Excellent Benefits including vacation, 401k and health/vision/dental.

    Job Summary

    .​​The Project Engineer at Barrett Paving Materials Inc. is primarily responsible for providing primary oversight on assigned field operations and reports to the Project Manager.

    Main Responsibilities

    + Read and understand plans and specifications.

    + Perform quantity takeoffs.

    + Perform solicitations to Vendors and Subcontractors.

    + Work on project site to observe progression.

    + Communicate roll out of projects with Project Manager, Superintendent and field personnel.

    + Perform safety requirements and ensure that risks are mitigated.

    + Perform submittals to agencies as the need arises for construction of project.

    + Review and analyze job cost information – verify accurate and complete, address and or correct as necessary.

    + Connect with Project Manager and Superintendent on a regular basis to ensure project issues and concerns are addressed.

    + Review billing quantities from information provided by field personnel and contractual requirements.

    + Provide clear step-by-step directions and answer questions while organizing the project.

    + Able to work and assist others to work in a safe manner within the guidelines of the company’s policies.

     

    Skills

     

    + Experience in phases of heavy civil construction related to bridge, heavy highway, earthwork and drainage.

    + Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.

    + Current, valid Driver’s license.

    + Willingness to work nights and weekends if required.

    Education

    Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field OR equivalent related experience.
