Description

Our client, a mission-driven nonprofit organization based in Del Mar, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced accounting professional passionate about supporting community-focused initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Oversee all aspects of day-to-day accounting, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and reconciliations.

+ Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.

+ Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

+ Collaborate with leadership on grant management, budgeting, and financial reporting.

+ Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting processes.

+ Assist with annual audits, donor reporting, and compliance requirements.

+ Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff.

Requirements

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

+ 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably with nonprofit organizations.

+ Strong understanding of GAAP and fund accounting.

+ Proficiency with nonprofit accounting software (e.g., Blackbaud, QuickBooks Nonprofit, Sage Intacct).

+ Excellent analytical and communication skills.

+ Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
