Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to oversee financial operations within a dynamic automotive dealership in Santa Barbara, California. This role requires someone with strong attention to detail and leadership skills to manage accounting processes, ensure regulatory compliance, and optimize business office efficiency. The ideal candidate will collaborate across departments to enhance operational performance and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
• Supervise daily activities of the business office, including administrative staff and financial operations.
• Ensure dealership compliance with federal, state, and local regulations impacting operations.
• Oversee the accurate processing of transactions such as vehicle sales, financing agreements, and leasing contracts.
• Maintain detailed financial records and prepare monthly statements to reflect dealership performance.
• Reconcile accounts regularly and manage cash flow, including fund receipts and disbursements.
• Oversee vehicle registration and titling processes to ensure timely completion.
• Manage tax document preparation and submission, adhering to all filing requirements.
• Collaborate with sales, service, and parts teams to align strategies and improve efficiency.
• Develop and implement policies to streamline operations and reduce costs.
• Train and mentor office staff, fostering growth and adherence to best practices. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, or at least 5 years of experience in automotive business management.
• Proficiency in dealership management software such as Reynolds or Dealertrack.
• Strong knowledge of automotive finance and insurance procedures.
• Familiarity with federal and state regulations impacting dealership operations.
• Demonstrated experience leading and managing teams in a business office setting.
• Excellent organizational and leadership capabilities.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Outstanding customer service abilities.
