    Description

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to for a client to help from February through April 15th. The Tax Preparer will be responsible for preparing individual and business tax returns, assisting clients with tax planning, and ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local tax regulations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Prepare federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals, businesses, and organizations.

    + Review financial records such as income statements and documentation of expenditures to determine forms needed to prepare tax returns.

    + Identify potential tax credits, deductions, and liabilities to optimize client financial standing.

    + Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant submission of all tax-related documents.

    + Maintain up-to-date tax knowledge by researching changes in tax regulation and attending relevant trainings.

    + Respond to inquiries from clients and government tax authorities, providing exceptional customer service and support.

    + Assist clients with tax planning to minimize tax liability and maximize compliance.

    + Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with ethical standards and legal requirements.

    Requirements

    + Proven experience as a tax preparer or related role.

    + Working knowledge of tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite.

    + Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws.

    + Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

    + Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

    + Relevant certification such as Registered Tax Return Preparer (RTRP), Enrolled Agent (EA), or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
