This is an exciting opportunity to join our client's Microbiology Division, where you will contribute to the manufacturing process of products that make a difference. As an operator, you will work with agars by loading products, checking volumes, ensuring quality, and more.
Responsibilities
+ Efficiently and safely operate assigned machinery, perform simple maintenance, and report any malfunctioning equipment immediately.
+ Set up and adjust machines to accommodate different sizes.
+ Obtain necessary materials from the warehouse or staging area for operational needs.
+ Organize production flow, ensure material availability, estimate line progress, and schedule breaks according to the production time schedule while maintaining safety.
+ Accurately document and check personal work for quality and compliance, monitor products for defects, and assist with the inventory process.
+ Dispense required additives accurately, perform pH balance techniques, and investigate potential production failures.
+ Follow all written procedures and report discrepancies to the Area Supervisor.
+ Perform all activities safely and wear personal protective equipment as required.
+ Report property damage or safety hazards immediately.
+ Complete production assignments in a timely manner as per departmental schedules.
+ Sign off on DHRs correctly and fill in pertinent information according to SOPs.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in manufacturing and production environments.
+ Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
+ Ability to perform inventory management and handle media such as agar.
+ Basic math skills and proficiency in pH balance techniques.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
+ Ability to understand and communicate in English, both written and verbally.
+ Capability to lift up to 50 lbs. and push/pull wheeled kettles up to 600 lbs.
+ Ability to stand for approximately 10 hours a day and distinguish colors.
+ Open to individuals with minimal relevant experience or a science AS or BS degree.
Work Environment
The role is based in a laboratory/cleanroom environment, with a second shift schedule from 2pm to 10:30pm. It offers experience in kit production and large-scale manufacturing, providing a great starting point in science with opportunities for advancement.

This is a Contract position based out of FREDERICK, MD.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.09 - $21.09/hr.
