    What You’ll Do

    + Lead a survey crew in completing accurate, high‑quality field surveys.

    + Supervise and train crew members in proper surveying techniques and equipment operation.

    + Execute boundary, topographic, control, mortgage, and as‑built surveys, along with all aspects of construction staking.

    + Ensure proper care, maintenance, and use of vehicles, instruments, and equipment.

    + Produce detailed, thorough field notes, calculations, and survey reports.

    + Communicate proactively with supervisors and project teams to keep work on track.

    + Follow instructions and apply industry standards to achieve precise outcomes.

    Essential Skills & Experience

    + 1–2+ years of recent, hands-on land surveying experience.

    + Proficiency with robotic total stations and GPS survey instruments.

    + Experience using data collectors and laptop-based survey software.

    + Valid driver’s license with a strong driving record.

    + Ability and willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.

    Preferred Technical Experience

    (Not required—candidates with strong fundamentals and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.)

     

    + Construction staking from surface files.

    + Experience with Topcon Robotic Total Station, Topcon GR‑3/GR‑5 GPS, Leica GPS, or Carlson SurvCE.

    + Familiarity with Tesla Data Collection using TDS software.

    + Data import/export capabilities across survey platforms.

    Work Environment

    This role is field-focused, working outdoors across various sites throughout the Carolinas. Candidates should be comfortable with travel and working in all weather conditions.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Colfax, NC.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
