    Job Title: RF Systems Engineer

    Job Description

    Join our team to support aviation communication development needs. As an experienced Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our customer's system, which provides advanced information management systems products and services to enhance the connected aviation ecosystem. You will be responsible for developing technical requirements and end-to-end system designs that ensure secure, high-availability communication between aircraft, airline hosts, and Civil Aviation Authorities.     Responsibilities

    + Analyze statements of need and business requirements.

    + Lead highly technical engineering teams on challenging RF-focused projects.

    + Develop RF test procedures and evaluate communications equipment.

    + Provide analysis for the decomposition of customer specifications and system-level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements.

    + Develop solutions with cross-discipline engineering teams.

    + Document technical analysis and perform analysis of data flows and data logs.

    + Analyze system performance against established parameters such as latency, availability, and capacity.

    Essential Skills

    + 8+ years of system engineering experience.

    + Expertise in RF technologies, including VHF, HF, UHF, LHF.

    + Experience with full life-cycle development, test implementation, and long-term support.

    + Proficiency in systems engineering, SDLC, modulation, and propagation.

    + Experience with architectural changes and customer-driven enhancements to complex systems.

    + Ability to develop technical product roadmaps.

    + Experience with configuration management, functional analysis, and requirements allocation.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience in VHF and HF RF technologies.

    + Knowledge of advanced digital signal processing techniques.

    + Ability to analyze and report results from RF modeling and simulation tools like MATLAB, SIMULINK, and LabVIEW.

    + Experience with RF interference mitigation and microwave systems.

    + Understanding of high power radio transmitters and high gain directional HF antennas.

    + Experience with service-oriented business models and high availability systems.

    + Experience working with government customers.

    Work Environment

    The position requires onsite work four days a week in a lab environment. You will be part of a collaborative, client-facing team working on mission-critical systems that impact millions of lives. The role offers opportunities to be trained into leadership positions and work with high reliability systems.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Annapolis, MD.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $155000.00/hr.
