Electrical Engineer – Chemical Manufacturing

Key Responsibilities
+ Design & Maintain Systems: Develop and maintain electrical systems for chemical plant operations.
+ Troubleshoot & Prevent: Diagnose electrical issues and implement preventative maintenance programs.
+ Problem-Solve & Lead Repairs: Recommend solutions and oversee repair completion for electrical problems.
+ Ensure Compliance: Verify that electrical systems and controls meet industry standards and codes.
+ Manage Projects: Oversee customer demands, schedules, costs, and project milestones.
+ Provide Expertise: Offer consultative input on electrical design and troubleshooting at substations.
+ Collaborate: Work closely with controls engineers and other electrical engineers on complex projects.
What We’re Looking For
+ Experience: 3–5 years in power distribution and electrical engineering.
+ Technical Skills: Proficiency in electrical design; ideally experience with packaging line design.
+ Software: Knowledge of MicroStation or willingness to learn.
+ Education: Associate’s degree with relevant industry experience (Bachelor’s preferred).
+ Industry Background: Chemical manufacturing, oil & gas, food & beverage, or power plants.
+ Specialized Knowledge:
+ Power distribution and control panel design (UL508, NEC guidelines).
+ Hazardous area electrical design.
+ Control system architectures and industrial networking.
+ PLC systems, HMI, and distributed control systems.
+ Instrumentation and process control design.
+ Motor control center design and variable frequency drives.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Sauget, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $75.00/hr.
