Job Title: Lab TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to join our team in monitoring chlorine levels and performing daily grading of salt stock piles. The role involves data entry, chemical analysis, and wet chemistry, ensuring purity mixing and maintaining a clean workspace. You will collaborate with other lab technicians and play a vital role in quality control and lab testing.

Responsibilities

+ Monitor chlorine levels and grade salt stock piles daily.

+ Perform data entry and chemical analysis.

+ Conduct wet chemistry and ensure purity mixing.

+ Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

+ Collaborate with other lab technicians on shift.

+ Conduct quality control inspections of products as they come off the production line.

+ Prepare chemical solutions according to formulas and run daily samples for testing.

+ Properly document all procedures and maintain traceability both on paper and electronically.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in wet chemistry and chemical analysis.

+ Proficiency in quality assurance and quality control procedures.

+ Ability to conduct lab testing and titration.

+ At least 1 year of experience in a non-medical laboratory setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Must be able to lift approximately 40 lbs daily.

+ Strong ability to learn quickly and possess excellent soft skills.

Work Environment

The role requires working in a salt mine environment, which is humid, dirty, and physically demanding. You will need to navigate several flights of stairs multiple times a day and transport samples from the mill to the lab, which is a satellite building. Initial training will last between 4 weeks, depending on your ability to learn, with a training schedule of 7 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday, and every other Saturday. After training, you will work independently. A uniform will be provided a few weeks after starting, with a dress code of jeans, steel toe boots, and a t-shirt (no short sleeves) during training. Enjoy 80 hours of PTO and 6 additional days of holiday pay. Opportunity for direct hire exists based on performance.

This is a Contract position based out of NEW IBERIA, LA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
