    Position Title:Postdoc Research Associate - Electrical and Computer Engineering

    Job Description:Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

    The Postdoctoral Research Associate will be actively involved in projects on optimization, data analytics, and control in power distribution systems, working closely with partners from utility companies and national laboratories, and utilizing real utility data and models to address practical problems.

     

    The ideal candidate will have an outstanding academic track record, well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, and be a strongly motivated researcher who can contribute to challenging research projects that require creativity and initiative.

    Required Minimum Qualifications:

    D octoral degree in Electrical Engineering

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Demonstrated expertise in power distribution systems, including design, implementation, and performance optimization.

    + Proven ability to apply advanced optimization techniques to improve system efficiency and reliability.

    + Strong background in data analytics, leveraging insights to drive operational improvements and predictive maintenance.

    + Experience in control strategies and automation, ensuring seamless integration and enhanced system performance.

    The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECpE) offers undergraduate (https://www.ece.iastate.edu/undergraduate-degree-programs/) and graduate (https://www.ece.iastate.edu/graduate-degree-programs/) degree programs that equip students with the knowledge and tools necessary to succeed in the fields of electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, and cybersecurity engineering. Research (https://www.ece.iastate.edu/research/) in our department focuses on five high-impact, interdisciplinary areas: bioengineering, cyber infrastructure, distributed sensing and decision-making, energy infrastructure, and small-scale technologies.
