    Job Title: Electrical EngineerJob Description

     

    The Electrical Engineer is a pivotal customer-facing role with extensive hands-on responsibility and ownership of New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, spanning from proposal through qualification testing and production support. This position significantly influences the development of the product line and advances the company's presence in the marketplace.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform detailed electrical design and development of embedded control systems supporting product lines such as Actuation Systems, Turbo Generators, Power Generation, Conversion and Distribution, and Micro-thrust Turbines.

    + Develop detailed system performance models using MATLAB/SIMULINK or equivalent software.

    + Allocate system requirements to components and subsystems.

    + Design and develop electronic hardware from inception to completion, including component selection, schematic capture, simulation, PCB/A layout, and all supporting analyses.

    + Implement Brushless DC Motor control using Real-time MCU/DSP technology.

    + Work on power electronics for motor control, active rectification, DC-DC conversion, and distribution.

    + Integrate various sensors used in closed-loop control systems, such as resolver, VDT, pressure, current, and HED.

    + Develop analog front-end conditioning for various sensors.

    + Assist in designing and developing firmware and software to support aforementioned systems and technologies.

    + Conduct hands-on bring-up, integration, and troubleshooting of embedded control and power generation systems.

    + Design and develop test stands, fixtures, and procedures for validating and verifying embedded electronics.

    + Perform validation and verification of product requirements.

    + Prepare documentation in support of customer and internal deliverables, including reports and presentations.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering.

    + 5+ years of relevant hardware experience in designing and developing motor controls and electromechanical control systems.

    + Proficiency in electrical engineering, electrical design, test engineering, and electronics.

    + Strong organizational skills and effective communication.

    + Ability to take ownership and actively engage in projects.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Preferred industry background in Aerospace and Defense, though not required.

    + Familiarity with software such as MATLAB, Simulink, LabVIEW, and Altium Designer.

    + Experience navigating firmware and embedded electronic systems.

    + Competence in board layout and schematic work.

    + Master's Degree is preferred.

    Work Environment

    The position operates on a 9/80 schedule, offering 2 weeks of PTO and 6 paid holidays. The role involves working with advanced technologies and equipment in a collaborative and innovative setting.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, TX.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $85.00/hr.
