Job Title: Distribution Field TechnicianJob Description
Join our team as a Distribution Field Technician where you will engage in joint use projects and perform various field technical services for the operation, inspection, and maintenance of electrical distribution systems. You will work on projects involving multiple utilities, entering data on what is being built and used, and adhere to specifications.
Responsibilities
+ Perform system inventories and audits.
+ Manage joint use projects and permitting.
+ Conduct sub-surface or pad-mount inspections.
+ Perform ground-line pole inspections.
+ Provide metering and apparatus services.
+ Conduct lighting audits.
+ Collect field data using electronic devices like laptops, tablets, and GPS.
+ Develop a working knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) and utility construction standards.
+ Operate equipment to take measurements on utility poles and mid-span facilities.
+ Inspect pad-mount equipment.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Proficient in computer skills and software navigation.
+ Experience in utility and aerial construction preferred.
+ Familiar with SPIDAcalc, Katapult, and ikeGPS.
+ Knowledge of data collection processes using devices such as roughbook/tablet and GPS.
+ Understanding of distribution engineering and aerial systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High school diploma or equivalent required.
+ Entry-level candidates with a Bachelor's degree will be considered.
+ 0-3 years of experience as a Field Tech with utility experience preferred.
+ Experience with field survey equipment like range finders, hasting sticks, and GPS units.
+ Familiarity with the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) preferred.
+ Proficient in MS Office products.
+ Valid driver's license required; must be at least 18 years old to drive on company time.
+ Willing to consent to GPS tracking.
+ Analytical skills to interact with engineers and distribution system designers.
+ Assist with storm damage assessments to distribution structures and equipment.
Work Environment
The role primarily involves regional travel to the utility client's territory, with some overnight travel expected. The position offers take-home vehicles and requires traveling in pairs for certain projects, particularly in rural areas. Work is conducted from Sunday to Friday, with travel on Sundays and Fridays, and full workdays from Monday to Thursday. Employees may be stationed in different states and are provided with per diem for travel.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Arlington, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $23.50/hr.
