Job Title: Quality Assurance SpecialistJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Specialist to perform sampling, monitoring, and testing of ingredients, products, and packages according to established procedures. This role involves ensuring process consistency and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

Responsibilities

+ Organize and test samples of ingredients, final products, shelf studies, or customer projects according to established procedures.

+ Label and maintain samples of ingredients or products for retains or shelf life monitoring.

+ Document collected data neatly and precisely for management review, using charts, graphs, and tables.

+ Maintain labs and other work areas and equipment in an orderly fashion.

+ Communicate any inconsistent results or observations to management immediately.

+ Monitor the plant for compliance with GMPs.

+ Inspect and swab equipment and the environment, communicating problems to the appropriate technical services or operations personnel.

+ Test Research & Development samples for food safety and specification compliance.

+ Recommend methods for improving processes to reduce waste, improve productivity, quality, and consistency.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in quality assurance and testing.

+ Knowledge in food science, food quality, microbiology, and biology.

+ Proficiency in conducting line checks in a lab environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in life sciences preferred. If no degree, at least 6 months of experience in food or quality assurance is required.

+ Ability to efficiently organize work tasks and time.

+ Strong written and oral communication skills, along with computer proficiency.

Work Environment

This is a temporary position covering a leave, with shifts from 7 PM to 3:30 AM, Sunday through Thursday. The role is tied to production, typically requiring 40 hours per week, with potential variations during slower periods. Work may occasionally be required on Saturdays. The dress code is casual, with clean long pants (jeans without holes or fraying), a sleeved shirt, closed-toed shoes, and a white lab coat.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.48 - $25.48/hr.
