Join our team as an R&D Harness Technician, where you will play a crucial role in building cutting-edge self-driving technology. This position involves vehicle build, sub-assembly, PCBA solder/rework, and harness build/assembly. You will work closely with the Hardware Engineering team and other associated teams, ensuring that all documentation is precise and meets our high standards. Safety is paramount, and you will follow all safety protocols while meeting internal deadlines.
Responsibilities
+ Build and assemble vehicle components, sub-assemblies, and harnesses as part of the R&D team.
+ Perform PCBA soldering and rework tasks with precision.
+ Collaborate closely with Hardware Engineering and associated teams.
+ Adhere to safety standards and meet project deadlines.
+ Maintain excellent documentation practices.
+ Work independently with limited oversight and proactively seek development opportunities.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum 5 years of direct experience in harness fabrication using 1:1 form boards and various tooling in R&D and prototype spaces.
+ Strong electrical skills with the ability to read wiring schematics and layouts, redline drawings, and communicate effectively with EDS design engineers.
+ Extensive knowledge in electrical wiring, harness building, and surface-mount circuit board assembly.
+ Proficient in using electrical tools and equipment such as crimpers, dies, multimeters, presses, connectors, contacts, and wire gauges/types.
+ Skilled in soldering and using a microscope for detailed work.
+ Experience with Jira, Confluence, PLM, CAD, and other software tools.
+ Excellent communication skills and self-awareness.
+ Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose, analyze, and isolate problems effectively.
+ Proficiency in Windows and Google productivity suite, specifically Sheets.
+ Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ IPC training and certification in IPC J-STD-001, IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-7711/7721.
+ Certification and training in GD&T.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Pittsburgh, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $31.00/hr.
