Job Title: Civil Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a Civil Engineer with over two years of experience in water resources to join our team in Fort Wayne. This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer eager to engage in planning, designing, and implementing water resource projects that encompass potable water, wastewater, and stormwater solutions. The successful candidate will join a project team dedicated to addressing complex environmental infrastructure challenges for communities and industries. Responsibilities
+ Collaborate with project managers, project engineers, CAD designers, and environmental scientists.
+ Prepare engineering reports, construction documents, cost estimates, and technical memos.
+ Perform design calculations under the guidance of a project engineer or manager.
+ Interpret and apply federal, state, and local regulations related to water resources and stormwater.
+ Contact government officials for permits and prepare permit applications.
+ Conduct site visits, field investigations, and inspections as needed.
+ Coordinate with contractors to ensure project requirements are met.
+ Communicate technical findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Essential Skills
+ A minimum of 2+ years of experience in water resources engineering.
+ Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering; a graduate degree is a plus.
+ Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam certification with progress toward PE licensure.
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and hydraulic modeling software.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling tools is advantageous.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Valid driver's license.
+ Ability to apply technical skills to meet project demands and solve problems.
+ Positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
+ A clear sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet deadlines.
+ Attention to detail and ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
Work Environment
The office environment is laid back, yet can be deadline-intensive at times, fostering a family-like atmosphere with a strong team spirit. The dress code is business casual. Standard working hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM, with flexibility to start as early as 7 AM or as late as 9 AM. There are opportunities to work a modified schedule of 9 hours Monday through Thursday and 4 hours on Friday. The work involves a mix of office and field activities, providing a balanced start to a career.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Wayne, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $42.97/hr.
