Job Title: Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer with 1–4 years of professional experience to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineering and possess hands‑on experience designing plumbing and fire protection systems for a variety of building types.

Key Responsibilities

+ Design and develop plumbing, mechanical, and fire protection systems for diverse project types.

+ Conduct on-site inspections and evaluations to verify compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations.

+ Collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration.

+ Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports.

+ Perform calculations, modeling, and system simulations to ensure reliability, efficiency, and code compliance.

+ Provide technical support throughout construction and commissioning phases.

+ Stay informed on industry best practices, technologies, and advancements in mechanical and fire protection engineering.

Required Skills & Qualifications

+ 1–4 years of relevant professional experience.

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Plumbing & Fire Protection).

+ Proven experience in plumbing and fire protection system design.

+ Proficiency in AutoCAD and MEP design tools.

+ Strong understanding of applicable codes, design standards, and engineering principles.

Preferred Skills & Additional Qualifications

+ Experience working on healthcare projects.

+ Proficiency in Revit.

+ Familiarity with electrical engineering concepts.

+ EIT or PE certification (or progress toward one).

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mineola, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $40.00/hr.
