Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in San Diego, California. In this contract role, you will play a key part in ensuring smooth and accurate accounts payable operations within a non-profit setting. This position requires hands-on expertise with payment processing systems and a commitment to maintaining compliance and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
• Process weekly accounts payable transactions with precision and adherence to established timelines.
• Manage vendor payments through Visa Direct and ensure accurate batch processing.
• Oversee automated accounts payable workflows, addressing exceptions and maintaining accuracy.
• Collect, review, and organize W-9 documentation to ensure compliance and proper vendor records.
• Handle employee and corporate expense reporting through Concur, including reconciling American Express statements.
• Reconcile accounts payable activity and contribute to month-end financial close processes.
• Maintain detailed and audit-ready documentation for all accounts payable activities.
• Collaborate with finance and operations teams to ensure timely and efficient payment processing.
• Utilize QuickBooks Enterprise Desktop and other tools to manage accounts payable functions effectively.
• Support cross-functional initiatives to enhance payment accuracy and operational efficiency. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of accounts payable experience, preferably in a high-volume or non-profit environment.
• Proficiency with electronic payment processing, including Visa Direct and ACH transactions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently meet deadlines.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including spreadsheet management and formula application.
• Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise or comparable accounting software.
• Familiarity with Concur expense management systems.
• Ability to work onsite and collaborate effectively with internal teams.
• Strong organizational skills and commitment to maintaining compliance in all processes.
