Description We are looking for an experienced Property Contract Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Lee's Summit, Missouri. This role is ideal for someone with strong expertise in property management accounting and a solid understanding of financial systems and processes. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to critical accounting functions within the asset management industry.
Responsibilities:
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions.
• Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining comprehensive records for auditing purposes.
• Reconcile bank accounts and monitor discrepancies to ensure proper alignment with company financial statements.
• Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and compliant with accounting standards.
• Utilize Yardi property management software to record financial data and generate reports.
• Collaborate with team members to analyze financial trends and support decision-making processes.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements in all accounting activities.
• Create and manage advanced Excel spreadsheets using formulas and VBA to streamline reporting and analysis.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing reconciliations and financial summaries.
• Provide insights and recommendations for improving accounting workflows and processes. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting.
• Proficiency in preparing journal entries and performing bank reconciliations.
• In-depth knowledge of Yardi property management software.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and VBA.
• Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Familiarity with asset management accounting practices and principles.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities effectively.
