    Job Overview

     

    We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) with a background in long-term care to administer and evaluate the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) examination in San Antonio, TX. This role offers an opportunity for RNs to apply their clinical expertise in a non-hospital setting by objectively assessing candidates pursuing CNA certification.

     

    The position is responsible for delivering a high-quality, secure, and professional testing experience while ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures, and standards.

     

    Work Schedule & Travel

     

    + Administer exams up to three test days per week (approximately 8 hours per test day)

    + Testing events primarily occur Monday–Friday, with occasional Saturdays and rare Sundays

    + Travel required within a 30–45 mile radius of the employee’s home zip code

    + Mileage reimbursement provided for travel beyond 30 miles

    Requirements

    Responsibilities

    Candidate Evaluation

     

    + Proctor computerized, knowledge-based examinations

    + Objectively observe and score candidates demonstrating clinical skills

    + Evaluate candidate performance during practical skills assessments

     

    Test Administration & Security

     

    + Prepare testing sites by reviewing rosters and ensuring proper setup and breakdown

    + Verify candidate identification and manage candidate flow throughout testing events

    + Monitor candidates during written examinations or oversee delegated proctors as needed

    + Maintain test integrity and security at all times

    + Observe, assess, and document candidate performance during skills exams

    + Address candidate concerns or escalate issues to appropriate leadership

    + Protect confidential exam content and testing materials

    + Perform basic technical troubleshooting, including workstation resets and password assistance

    + Report incidents or irregularities outside established guidelines

     

    Operational & Administrative Duties

     

    + Coordinate and manage candidate rosters and appointment schedules

    + Maintain strong working relationships with testing sites and facility partners

    + Provide on-site leadership and guidance to candidates during test events

    + Foster professional, respectful relationships with fellow Nurse Aide Evaluators

    + Represent the organization professionally when interacting with candidates and site partners

    Qualifications

    Education & Licensure

     

    + Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of operation

    + Bachelor’s degree preferred

    Experience

    + Minimum of one year of experience in long-term care or caring for chronically ill patients of any age

    + Staff development, education, or training experience preferred

     

    Skills & Competencies

     

    + Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency (MS Office, Outlook, web-based systems)

    + Strong verbal and written communication skills

    + Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail

    + Ability to work independently with sound judgment and professionalism

    + Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities

    + Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

    + Access to personal computer equipment (computer/laptop, printer, etc.)

    Physical Requirements

    + Ability to travel 30+ miles one way

    + Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours per testing event)

    + Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (testing mannequins and equipment)
