Job Title: Refrigeration Mechanic** **Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Refrigeration Mechanic to join our team. The role involves conducting maintenance and repairs of various facility systems including compressed air, HVAC, steam, and ammonia refrigeration systems. The ideal candidate will operate facility ammonia refrigeration and steam systems, read and interpret sketches and operating instructions, and monitor systems via the Control Room SCADA system.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct maintenance and repairs of facility compressed air systems, rooftop HVAC, steam systems, and ammonia refrigeration systems.
+ Operate facility ammonia refrigeration systems and steam systems.
+ Read, interpret, and apply sketches, prints, and operating instructions.
+ Monitor heating and cooling systems via the Control Room SCADA system.
+ Complete building rounds multiple times per shift.
+ Work in extreme temperatures, including freezer environments and boiler rooms.
+ Adjust work schedule to accommodate 24/7 operations, including holidays.
+ Use hand and power tools and other instruments applicable to the trade.
+ Fabricate parts to perform maintenance repairs.
+ Perform basic diagnostic analysis of electrical circuits on all systems assigned.
+ Participate in the QRMP yearly audit and assist in developing procedures and corrective actions.
+ Join the facility’s Emergency Response Team.
+ Complete other duties as assigned by management.
Essential Skills
+ Strong understanding of refrigeration, steam generation, compressed air, and HVAC fields.
+ Experience in maintenance and preventive maintenance of industrial refrigeration equipment.
+ CFC Certification - Type I & Type II as defined by EPA, preferred.
+ Capable of lifting up to 100 lbs, climbing, and meeting other physical demands.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Third Class Stationary Engineer-Steam and R-4 Refrigeration Operator certifications preferred.
+ Training provided for Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator (CARO), Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator (CIRO), and Process Safety Management Total Curriculum Signoff.

Work Environment
The work environment includes shift schedules with training during the day shift for 3 to 4 weeks. Available shifts include 1st Shift Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm, 2nd Shift Monday-Friday 2pm-10:30pm with a shift differential, and 3rd Shift Monday-Friday 10pm-6:30am with a higher shift differential. Candidates must be open to working weekends and overtime as needed. Additional compensation is available with City of Rochester Steam and Refrigeration Licenses.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $69326.00 - $74526.00/yr.
