    Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

    Job Description

    This position is for an Industrial Electromechanical Technician, focusing initially on 30% mechanical work and 70% electrical work. The main objective is to service, maintain, and upgrade existing production equipment and facilities, build new machinery, and ensure a safe workplace.

    Responsibilities

    + Diagnose and repair industrial production line equipment with minimal supervision and downtime, including troubleshooting and servicing machine control circuits, PLCs, AC/DC motors, sensors, pneumatic components, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, grinders, and punch presses.

    + Complete work orders accurately and ensure all corrective maintenance activities are properly documented.

    + Collaborate with production personnel, maintenance technicians, and engineering staff to identify issues and coordinate effective solutions.

    + Propose and implement design improvements to enhance equipment performance and reliability.

    + Conduct routine preventive maintenance to ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with operational standards.

    + Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, maintaining a clean and secure work environment.

    + Actively contribute suggestions to improve workplace safety for all employees.

    Essential Skills

    + 5+ years of hands-on experience in an industrial setting.

    + Strong mechanical knowledge and skills, including the use of common hand tools.

    + Ability to troubleshoot machine control circuits, including switches, relays, fuses, indicators, and sensors.

    + Interpret and work with electrical schematics (IEEE & IEC standards).

    + Read and understand technical drawings, diagrams, and schematics.

    + Diagnose and repair AC/DC motors, servo motors, and stepper motors.

    + Proficient in using electrical test instrumentation, including multimeters and amp meters.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High School Diploma or Technical School preferred but not required.

    + Experience in maintenance technician roles, preventative maintenance, and fabrication.

    + Proficiency in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, PLC troubleshooting, blueprints, hydraulics, pneumatics, and schematic reading.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Glendale Heights, IL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
