    Job Title: Material Handler

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler for the 1st Shift, which runs from 6:15 pm to 2:45 pm, Monday through Friday, with potential overtime on weekends. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse processes.

    Responsibilities

    + Pick components and prepare them for shipment.

    + Unload trailers and receive products, ensuring they are properly put away.

    + Load outbound trailers efficiently.

    + Conduct cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records.

    + Respond to driver doorbells and direct carriers to the correct plants.

    + Receive inbound materials, verifying information and quantity against packing slips or purchase orders.

    + Identify and report any discrepancies found in the inbound materials.

    + Use snips, hammer, and various hand tools to open loads, remove strapping, and safely dispose of wrapping materials.

    + Place protective material around loads and use wrapping equipment for secure handling, storage, or final shipment.

    + Handle and dispose of scrap or trash into the compactor, activating the compacting cycle as necessary.

    + Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse condition.

    + Perform operations and safety checks on equipment, including battery, brakes, and lift controls, prior to the start of each shift.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in material handling.

    + Proficiency with RF scanners.

    + Strong mathematical skills.

    + Experience in inventory management, picking, and packing.

    + Familiarity with production processes.

    + Ability to operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts.

    + Experience with pallet jacks and general shipping and receiving tasks.

    + Capability to perform general labor tasks.

     

    Work Environment

     

    The role is situated in a warehouse environment with a focus on safety and efficiency. Employees are expected to adhere to safety protocols and maintain cleanliness. This position requires the operation of various machinery, including forklifts and pallet jacks, and involves physical tasks such as lifting and moving materials.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Zeeland, MI.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
