    About the Role

     

    We’re seeking a highly skilled **Manual Machinist** to join our close‑knit, six‑person team. In this role, you’ll perform precision layouts, setups, and machining using conventional equipment. You’ll work from complex technical drawings—including GD&T—and develop setup methods for unique or first‑time projects. This position also plays a key role in mentoring others and driving continuous improvement across the shop.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Perform layouts and operate conventional machine tools with precision

    + Read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T

    + Develop setup methods for custom or challenging machining projects

    + Train and mentor shop personnel in proper machining techniques

    + Identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and overall processes

    Essential Skills & Experience

    + Hands‑on experience with Manual Mill, Lathe, and combination Mill/Lathe operations

    + Ability to operate a Horizontal Boring Mill

    + Strong blueprint reading and manual machining skills

    + Proficiency with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, grinders)

    + Completion of a machinist apprenticeship or equivalent training

    + Proven ability to hold tight tolerances and inspect finished components

    + Experience setting up equipment such as:

    + ID/OD Grinders

    + Engine Lathe

    + Horizontal & Vertical Boring Mills

    + Radial Drill

    + Planer Mill

    + Minimum **4 years** of machine shop experience

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Experience running a Planer Mill

    + Strong communication skills and a team‑oriented mindset

    + Willingness to work overtime when needed

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
