Job Title: Packaging Operator

Job Description

Operate all manual, automatic, and material handling equipment safely and efficiently to combine ingredients, preparing them for various bakery products like bread and cakes, according to specific recipes and production schedules. Adhere to all GMPs and SQF standards.

2nd. shift - 2:30pm to 11pm Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

+ Review MES Production Orders.

+ Inspect all finished goods for damage, cleanliness, expiration, and lot code issues.

+ Ensure the line is sanitized using specified SOP procedures.

+ Complete a pre-flight checklist prior to tasks.

+ Maintain tools and equipment in reliable working condition.

+ Use the MES system for recording production data.

+ Understand and execute all allergen regulations according to SOPs.

+ Perform quality checks on the production line and complete quality paperwork.

+ Report downtime in the OEE system.

+ Understand and monitor the OEE system.

+ Operate the packaging machine.

Essential Skills

+ At least 2 years of experience in a highly intensive and physical work environment, preferably in manufacturing with GMP.

+ Proficiency in basic computer literacy and understanding of operating systems.

+ Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in English.

+ Demonstrated ability to read and understand system instructions and training materials.

+ Capability to work overtime as mandated.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Completion of skill assessments with passing scores as defined by company policy.

+ Good attendance record with less than 5 points.

+ Ability to learn computer systems and use scanning technology.

+ Prior experience relevant to the skills required for operation.

+ SQF training, GMP training, SOP training.

Work Environment

Work in a food manufacturing environment adhering to all CGMP and HAACP guidelines. The production floor is not climate controlled, being cold in winter and hot in summer. Work boots are required, and adherence to CGMP policies is necessary, including no jewelry and appropriate hair netting. The role is on the 2nd shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pennsauken, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.89 - $22.89/hr.
