Job Title: Controls Technician** **Job Description
Join our team as a Controls Technician on the 2nd or 3rd shift, where your primary focus will be on troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance. The role does not require PLC programming but will involve working with logic, troubleshooting, and making necessary edits. You will follow control schemes, identify shorts and opens through schematics, and engage in methodical troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
+ Follow and comply with all safety standards including Lockout Tagout (LOTO).
+ Provide safe and timely electrical support.
+ Confer with the supervisor on job assignments and preventive maintenance, TPM events, and maintenance work orders.
+ Analyze, troubleshoot, replace, and install electrical DC and AC controls.
+ Perform power distribution troubleshooting and electrical installations.
+ Troubleshoot and correct equipment Programmable Logic Controls (PLC’s).
+ Suggest, design, and upgrade existing equipment controls.
+ Develop, create, and maintain all electrical documentation.
+ Engage in PLC programming and modification of programs and devices.
+ Conduct Ethernet I/O troubleshooting and setup.
+ Install, repair, and troubleshoot equipment electrical safety controls.
+ Work from complicated drawings, blueprints, worksheets, and other related documents.
+ Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of manufacturing and facility equipment.
+ Participate in continuous improvement activities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in performing repairs and preventive maintenance of facility equipment and machinery.
+ Ability to troubleshoot PLCs, motors, motor controls, drives, electrical circuits, hydraulic systems, and robotics.
+ Effective communication skills to provide training or technical support to the maintenance team.

Work Environment
Work in a 600,000 square foot facility that houses sanding machines, CNC machines, and paint/finish lines. The environment is not climate-controlled, which requires adaptability to varying conditions.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kinston, NC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $37.00/hr.
