Job Description
The shop laborer will be responsible for cleaning welds on parts using a small weld cleaning unit. This process involves using a mild acid, rinsing with water, and applying a neutralizing solution to ensure the weld is clean before shipment. The role includes assisting with handling parts from machines, washing parts, lifting up to 50lbs frequently, and using handheld grinders to polish and finish parts. The position offers the opportunity to learn to read and interpret basic blueprints and may involve operating CNC equipment as needed. The work is repetitive, with tasks such as stacking parts on carts and pallets and sorting items into inventory.
Responsibilities
+ Clean welds on parts using a mild acid and neutralizing solution.
+ Assist in handling parts from machines.
+ Wash and prepare parts for shipment.
+ Lift and handle parts weighing up to 50lbs.
+ Utilize handheld grinders to grind and polish parts.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Frankfort, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $26.00/hr.
