Fleet Mechanic – First Shift

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Fleet Mechanic to join our team and support first-shift operations in Brunswick, GA. This is a long-term, direct-hire opportunity offering competitive pay, strong benefits, and stable career growth. The Fleet Mechanic will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing semi‑trucks and trailers, with approximately 80% of daily work involving diesel equipment.

Key Responsibilities

+ Diesel & Mechanical Repair

+ Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines on semi‑trucks.

+ Perform both preventative and reactive maintenance on tractors and fleet equipment.

+ Replace water pumps, AC system components, and other engine-related parts.

+ Conduct DOT inspections and accurately document findings.

Trailer Repair & Maintenance

+ Repair trailer electrical systems, including wiring brake lights and other lighting components.

+ Replace and repair brakes, tires, hydraulics, and suspension components.

+ Perform required welding and torch work as needed for repairs or fabrication tasks.

Air Brake Systems

+ Inspect, diagnose, and repair air brake systems—a critical skill required for the role.

Technology & Documentation

+ Retrieve work orders via iPad, log repairs, and check out parts through electronic workflow.

+ Maintain detailed, accurate service documentation and ensure compliance with DOT and company standards.

Required Qualifications

+ Experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Fleet Mechanic working on trucks/trailers.

+ Strong working knowledge of air brake systems (required).

+ Hands‑on experience repairing hydraulics, wiring/electrical systems, brakes, tires, and mechanical components.

+ Ability to weld and/or use torches when necessary.

+ Comfortable using tablets or digital systems for work orders and part tracking.

+ Ability to perform DOT inspections.

+ Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently on first shift.

Work Environment & Schedule

+ First Shift – consistent daytime schedule

+ Hands‑on industrial environment working with semi‑trucks, trailers, and diesel equipment

+ Physically active role requiring lifting, bending, and working with tools and machinery

Compensation & Benefits

+ Up to $32/hr starting pay

+ Permanent, direct-hire employment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $58000.00 - $63000.00/yr.
