Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in York, Maine. This is a long-term contract position, ideal for a candidate who excels in corporate tax, financial reconciliation, and maintaining accurate accounting records. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to key financial operations while ensuring compliance and accuracy.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and manage corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations.

• Oversee sales tax filings and ensure timely submissions.

• Create and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.

• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to ensure completeness and accuracy.

• Handle accounts payable processes, including invoice review and payment scheduling.

• Perform account reconciliation tasks to verify financial data integrity.

• Manage accounts receivable operations, including invoicing and collections.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze data and prepare financial reports.

• Collaborate with team members to support audits and resolve discrepancies. Requirements • Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and compliance.

• Demonstrated expertise in handling sales tax and corporate tax returns.

• Strong knowledge of journal entries and general ledger management.

• Proficiency in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

• Ability to perform detailed account reconciliations accurately.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.

• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
