Description
We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our client's team in New York, New York. This role is ideal for someone with expertise in Yardi software and a strong background in managing financial records within the real estate sector. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of all accounting operations.
Responsibilities:
• Handle daily accounting tasks for real estate portfolios, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries.
• Maintain precise financial records using Yardi property management software.
• Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for properties and entities.
• Process vendor invoices and tenant payments while ensuring timely collections and disbursements.
• Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
• Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and performing cash flow analyses for various properties.
• Collaborate with property managers and asset managers to deliver accurate financial reporting and analysis.
• Ensure adherence to internal policies and compliance with external regulatory standards.
• Prepare and submit sales tax filings and other regulatory documents as required.
• Support audit processes by providing necessary documentation and information to auditors.
Requirements
• 3+ years of bookkeeping experience, ideally within the real estate or property management industry.
• Proficient in Yardi software, including Yardi Voyager, for property accounting and reporting.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and real estate financial operations.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with property management teams.
• Experience with QuickBooks and handling accounts payable and receivable.
• Skilled in performing bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
