Description We are looking for an experienced Public Staff Tax Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in El Paso, Texas. This role is essential for handling high-volume tax preparation during the busy season, focusing exclusively on individual tax returns (1040). Responsibilities:

• Prepare individual tax returns (1040) with accuracy and efficiency during high-volume periods.

• Utilize tax software effectively, with preference for experience in platforms like Thomson Reuters or similar systems.

• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and standards while maintaining attention to detail.

• Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and deliver quality results.

• Adapt quickly to changing priorities and maintain a strong work ethic throughout the busy season.

• Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary tax documentation and resolve inquiries.

• Review and verify client information to ensure completeness and accuracy.

• Apply critical thinking to identify potential issues or opportunities for tax optimization.

• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all dealings with sensitive client information.

• Uphold organizational standards and contribute to the overall success of the team. Requirements • Minimum of two years' experience preparing individual tax returns during busy seasons.

• Familiarity with tax software, with bonus points for expertise in Thomson Reuters or comparable platforms.

• Proven ability to handle high-volume workloads with precision and efficiency.

• Strong critical thinking skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.

• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines.

• Knowledge of tax laws and regulations relevant to individual tax preparation.
