Description

We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team in Chicago, Illinois, on a part-time, contract basis. The ideal candidate will excel in managing financial records, ensuring accurate account reconciliations, and supporting overall financial operations. This position is within the non-profit sector, offering an opportunity to contribute to meaningful organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

• Perform detailed account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.

• Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice handling and payment tracking.

• Oversee accounts receivable tasks, such as processing payments and maintaining records.

• Conduct bank reconciliations to verify and align financial accounts.

• Maintain accurate bookkeeping records and ensure compliance with organizational standards.

• Input data into financial systems with precision and attention to detail.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for reporting and analysis purposes.

• Assist with month-end close activities to finalize financial statements.

• Work with Sage Intacct software to manage financial data efficiently.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of staff-level or related accounting experience.

• Proficiency in account reconciliation, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

• Strong knowledge of bank reconciliation processes and financial accuracy.

• Familiarity with bookkeeping practices and data entry.

• Skilled in using Microsoft Excel for financial reporting and analysis.

• Experience with Sage Intacct or similar accounting software.

• Ability to manage month-end close procedures effectively.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
