    Robert Half Accountemps (Merced, CA)


    Description

    We are actively seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support our client's accounting operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting audits, and providing cross-functional support to other departments as necessary.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    + Balance cash accounts daily.

    + Perform month-end close activities, including preparing all journal entries and account reconciliations.

    + Calculate monthly commissions.

    + Assist accounts payable with proper GL account and department coding.

    + Support quarterly and annual financial statement audits, as well as bi-annual collateral examinations.

    + Prepare sales and property tax returns.

    + Manage credit cards and associated transactions.

    + Assist in issuing checks, ACH, and wire transfers per approved cash disbursement reports.

    + Apply daily cash receipts to bank accounts.

    + Collaborate with the sales team on collections.

    + Prepare weekly accounts receivable aging reports and related analysis.

    + Assist with customer credit reviews.

    + Handle ad hoc reporting requests, as needed.

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent; or a minimum of 2 years in a similar functional accounting role.

    Requirements

    At least 2 years of experience performing basic junior level accounting functions

     

    QuickBooks Desktop experience highly preferred
