Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Rockville, Maryland. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee and enhance financial operations within a dynamic construction environment. The ideal candidate will play a key role in driving financial strategy, ensuring compliance, and supporting the company’s ambitious growth plans.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.

• Oversee financial processes specific to construction, such as job costing, work-in-progress schedules, subcontractor compliance, change orders, and accruals.

• Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

• Support budgeting and forecasting efforts, including conducting variance analyses to monitor financial performance.

• Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls, financial policies, and compliance standards.

• Provide mentorship and leadership to the accounting team, fostering a culture aligned with company values.

• Collaborate on strategic initiatives such as entering new markets, managing acquisitions, and upgrading systems.

• Optimize and implement accounting systems to accommodate organizational growth and expansion. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• At least 10 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, with leadership responsibilities.

• In-depth knowledge of construction accounting practices, including work-in-progress schedules and job costing.

• Proven ability to lead and develop accounting teams in mid-sized to large general contractor organizations.

• Demonstrated experience in scaling systems and processes to support business growth.

• Strong integrity, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

• Hands-on approach to leadership, maintaining close connections with both office and field operations.
