Description

We are looking for an experienced Medical Billing professional to join our team on a contract with the potential for a permanent position. This role is based in Richmond, Virginia, and involves ensuring the accuracy and compliance of medical billing processes. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of fee schedules, billing guidelines, and medical billing systems.

Responsibilities:

• Audit medical bills to confirm compliance with state fee schedules, organizational discounts, and client-specific guidelines.

• Utilize fee schedules and computer systems to verify the appropriateness of billed charges.

• Reference materials and resources to support the auditing process as needed.

• Maintain consistent attendance and adhere to company policies and safety regulations.

• Ensure compliance with workplace safety rules as outlined in the Injury and Illness Prevention Program.

• Perform additional tasks as assigned to support billing operations.

Requirements • At least 3 years of experience in medical billing and auditing processes.

• Proficiency in systems such as Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, and EHR platforms.

• Familiarity with Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) and Epaces.

• Strong understanding of accounts receivable, appeals, and benefit functions.

• Knowledge of billing functions, claim administration, and workers' compensation.

• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently.

• Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks effectively.
